Kilkenny gardaí made a major discovery earlier this week after stopping a driver who was spotted using his mobile phone whilst driving.
"The driver of this car (pictured above) didn't pay heed when one of the lads on mobile patrol spotted him on his phone while driving," a garda spokesperson said.
After being issued with a fine and with penalty points to follow his day 'got worse however when it was discovered that his tax and NCT were both over 700 days expired'.

"We had to impound [the vehicle]," gardaí stated. "On the plus side, the sun was out at the time making a brisk walk from Dean Street actually quite pleasant."
