Gardaí have confirmed they made four arrests in connection with an incident of criminal damage at The Boy’s National School in Castlecomer on Monday night.
Pictures taken by Farrell's Gala and published online show windows smashed and classrooms ransacked (SEE PICTURES BELOW).
"A school where Great Grandparents, Grandparents, parents, uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons and possibly even great grandsons were educated. A school that holds so many memories for everyone. It really is awful behaviour and so disrespectful," Farrell's Gala posted on social media in response to this week's events.

"Gardaí responded to an incident of criminal damage that occurred at approximately 5.45pm on January 12 at an educational premises in Castlecomer, County Kilkenny," a garda spokesperson told Kilkenny Live.
"Four male juveniles aged in their teens were arrested in connection with this incident. Three have since been released pending referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme and the fourth was released without charge.
"Investigations are ongoing," they added.
