Kilkenny Court: Man charged with 41 sexual offences

Case sent to Central Criminal Court

A man charged with 41 sexual offences has been sent forward to the Central Criminal Court for trial.

The man is charged with offences including rape and sexual assault against two people between 2001 and 2009.

Kilkenny District Court heard that a book of evidence in the case was served on the man before the sitting of the district court.

Judge Geraldine Carthy was told the Director of Public Prosecutions consented to the case being sent forward to the Central Criminal Court.

Legal aid was granted for a solicitor, one junior and one senior counsel. The man was bailed on condition he sign on at a garda station twice a week and that he have no contact with the injured parties or witnesses verbally or via social media. He has also surrendered his passport.
