The vehicle was seized after the driver was identified by a garda who recognised it from a previous incident.

A vehicle has been seized by An Garda Síochana for the second time in four months after the same driver was stopped at the same location in Kilkenny by the same garda.

According to a Facebook post by gardaí, the vehicle was seized again after the driver was identified by a garda who recognised it from the previous incident. The driver had insured the vehicle under another person's name, meaning it did not trigger the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system.

However, the garda on duty recognised the vehicle and it was seized once again.

“The driver can attempt to explain why he believes that a Driving Licence and Insurance are optional,” the garda post said.

“They say sequels are overrated,” it added.
