Tributes have been pouring in for Lily Birch, formerly of Kilkenny city, following her passing on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Lily passed away peacefully in her 99th year, surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at Garbally View Nursing Home.
Messages of condolence have been left on Lily's rip.ie page by those who knew her over the course of her long life.
One person said: "A wonderful lady, mother and grandmother. May your happy memories bring you peace and comfort at this time."

Another wrote: "Rip to lily, an amazing lady with a heart of gold."
Another said: "A really lovely lady. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace."
Lily is predeceased by her husband Paddy, grandson Phelim, brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by her loving family, son Martin, daughters Teresa(Coughlan), Mary(Goode), daughter in law Anne, sons in law Mike and Paddy.
Adored grandchildren Maeve, Patrick, Aoife, Brian, Claire, Michaél, Peter, James, Sean, Alice, Cathal. Great grandchildren Kaitlin, Séamus, Joe, Ellie, Tommy, Oísin, Adah, Ted, Éabha, Finn and Rían. Sister Anne Conroy and brother Paddy Meighan, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Grenham's Funeral Home H53 HK15, Ballinasloe on Monday, February 24 from 5pm to 7pm with removal to her residence afterwards. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 25 at 12 noon in St. Cuan's Church, Ahascragh H53 V384. Burial afterwards in Ahascragh New Cemetery.
