James (Jim) Beck

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Beck, Nore View Cresent, Thomastown, Kilkenny, formerly of Welwyn Garden, London. Jim died peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, in the wonderful care of the staff at Gowran Abbey Nursing Home. Jim is predeceased by his wife Terry, daughter Ann and sisters May, Kit, Rita, Nancy and Bernie. Jim is deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving grandson John, granddaughter Ciara, very dear friends Helen and Philly Brennan, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in the Mercy Side Chapel of the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, April 30, pausing for prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am in the Church of the Assumption, followed by interment in St Mary's New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. Maura O'Neill (née Cottrell)

The death has occurred of Maura O'Neill (née Cottrell), Brownsford, Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny. Maura passed away peacefully in her 95th year in the loving care of her family and the staff of Gowran Abbey Nursing Home on Monday, April 28, 2025. Predeceased by her beloved husband Pat, her sons Brendan and Billy, her grandchildren Ger, Michelle, Shauna and great granddaughter Áine, her son in law Jim, her daughter in law Mary and her brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by her children Tom, Moira (O'Neill), Paudie, Meehaul, Breda (Ryan), Oona (Dowling), Seán, Shem, Teresa (Connolly) and Kevin, her 39 grandchildren, her 45 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, her sister in law Bridget Cottrell, nieces, nephews, relatives and numerous friends.

Maura's Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Colmcille's Church, Inistioge  at 11am on Wednesday, April 30, followed by burial in Mullinarrigle cemetery (X91 XW67).
