RIP: Kilkenny community saddened at passing of 'respected' man

RIP

Donaguile has lost one of its more senior and respected men with the death of John Dowling at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.
In his 91st year, a life-long member of the PTAA, he was a quiet and reserved man. He loved to collect memorabilia from various sales which he stored with great pride in his home.

John kept up the family tradition in music and formed several groups playing at numerous venues across North Kilkenny. A keen dancer, he was also an accomplished guitar and mouth organ player. He followed the fluctuating fortunes of Kilkenny on the hurling and camogie fields.

Burial was in the Parish Cemetery after Requiem Mass which was celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception by Fr Richard Scriven, PP Castlecomer.
