Patricia Walsh (née Walsh)

The death has occurred of Patricia Walsh (née Walsh), Park Villa, Ballyogreek, Mullinavat, Kilkenny, who passed away peacefully on Monday (13th October 2025) surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her sisters Eileen (Eily Gaul), Bridget (Biddy Anderson) and Josephine (Dody Dineen). Forever missed by her heartbroken family, beloved husband Pierce, son Kevin, daughter Marianne, son-in-law Schalk, daughter-in-law Fiona, her grandchildren Sophie, Daire and Frank Pierce, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Patricia McCarthy (née Fallon)

The death has occurred of Patricia McCarthy (née Fallon), Aughavey House, Coolcuttia, Paulstown, Co. Kilkenny. Peacefully at home in her 72nd year, surrounded by members of Her family. Forever missed by her heartbroken family, husband Dermot, daughter Maeve, sons Karl, Owen and Niall, daughter-in-law Lara, grandchild Hugo, brother Frank and sister Pearly. brother-in-law Alec, sister-in-law Mairead, nephews Dave and Elton and niece Deirdre.

 Reposing at Her Residence (R95 X9CO) on Thursday, October 16, from 2pm to 5pm. A small private family service will take place in Newlands Cross Crematorium on Friday, October, 17.

Margaret (Peggy) Barron (née Mulcair)

The death has occurred of Margaret (Peggy) Barron (née Mulcair), Rossenany, Windgap, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Woolengrange, Bennettsbridge, Co. Kilkenny. Peacefully, in her 91st year, at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel on Monday,  October 13, 2025. Pre-deceased by her husband Paddy, her granddaughter Baby Sarah and her brothers Tommy, John Joe and Jim. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, children Mary (Moore), John, Claire (Prendergast), Monica (Brun) and P.J., daughters-in-law Miriam and Helen, sons-in-law Michael, Gareth and Didier, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sister Carmel and her brother Jerry, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her son, PJ’s residence, Farranaree, Windgap (Eircode R95 NW26) on Thursday, October 16, from 3pm. Funeral Prayers at 7pm followed by removal to St. Nicholas’ Church, Windgap. Requiem Mass on Friday,  October 17, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, donations if desired to St. Joseph’s Home, Kilmoganny. The Barron Family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to all the Staff in Sonas Nursing Home, Carrick-on-Suir for the exceptional care and compassion during her time there.

Michael (Har) Fitzgerald

The death has occurred of Michael (Har) Fitzgerald, Glenbarrow, Portlaoise, Co. Laois and formerly Ballytarsney, Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny, who died on October 13, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents and sisters Anne and Bernie. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Josephine, stepsons Joseph and Declan and their wives Antoinette and Lorraine, his adored grandchildren and great grandchild Connie, sisters Mary, Veronica and Helen, brother Pat, brothers-in-law John, Christy, Greg and Mick, extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:30pm until 8pm with prayers at 7:30pm. Requiem mass will take place at 11am on Thursday in SS Peter and Paul's Church Portlaoise followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery Portlaoise.

Norah (Noreen) Walsh (née O'Rourke)

The death has occurred of Norah (Noreen) Walsh (née O’Rourke) late of London, formerly of Cork.  Beloved wife of the late Seán Walsh of Knocktopher, Noreen will now be reunited with him in eternal rest. Norah (Noreen) Walsh died on  September 18,  2025, at Kentford Manor Care Home, surrounded by her devoted family. The warmth, compassion, and dedication shown by the staff at Kentford Manor brought great comfort in her final days and will never be forgotten. She is deeply mourned by her loving daughter Jeanette, son-in-law Liam, and her cherished grandchildren Gemma, Sinéad, Ciara, and Declan. Noreen will be fondly remembered by her extended family, dear friends, and kind neighbours, all of whom were touched by her spirit, kindness and generous heart.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 17, at 12pm in the Carmelite Friary, Knocktopher, followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery. May her kind and loving soul rest in peace.  Funeral mass can be viewed online at https://www.facebook.com/Ballyhaleknocktopherknockmoylan/

James (Jim) White

The death has occurred of James (Jim) White, "St. Anne's" Waterford Road, Kilkenny and formerly of Denaby Main, South Yorkshire, UK. Jim passed away on October 10, 2025, peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital. Beloved husband of Anne (née Griffin). He will be sadly missed by his loving wife and family in the UK and Ireland.

Jim's Funeral will take place in the UK at a later date.

Pat Murtagh

The death has occurred of Pat Murtagh, Coolbawn Upper, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, on October 13, 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the excellent care of all the staff in Surgical 1, St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by his wife Ethel, mother Annie and father Pat, sister Esther, brothers Tom and John. Much loved father of Pat and Marie. Sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Kathleen, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren Diarmuid, Ciara, Catriona, and Stephen, brother Willie, sisters Jane, Breda, Ann, Mary, Kathleen and Alice, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer [R95 AK38] on Wednesday, October 15,  from 4pm, concluding with Vigil prayers and rosary at 7pm. Funeral prayers at 10am on Thursday, followed by removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Moneenroe [R95 F6XK] (via his residence), for Requiem Mass at 11am. Pat will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining cemetery. Edward (Ned) Buggy

The death has occurred of Edward (Ned) Buggy (Dicksboro Club, former secretary of the Northern Board and PRO of the Kilkenny GAA County Board), Friary Street, Kilkenny City, suddenly but peacefully on October 12, 2025 surrounded by his caring family in the excellent care of all the staff in St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkennny City, predeceased by his parents Dick and Alice and his brother Jim. Deeply regretted by his sister Teresa, his partner Eva, cousins, extended family, good neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Ned will repose in Shasby’s Funeral Home, Kilkenny City on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 3pm to 7pm followed immediately by removal to St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny City for reception prayers at 7.30pm (rosary and vigil prayers in Funeral Home at 6.30pm). Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday (17th) in St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10.30am followed by burial in Foulkstown Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed at www.stmaryscathedral.ie Family flowers only please, donations if desired to The Capuchin Friary, Kilkenny, donation box in funeral home and church. Additional car parking spaces available at UPMC Nowlan Park during the hours of Ned’s Reposal. The funeral cortége will walk from St. Mary’s Cathedral en route to Foulkstown Cemetery via Parnell Street, New Street to the Waterford Road Roundabout.

Mary Cusack (née Doran)

The death has occurred of Mary Cusack (née Doran), Parkside, Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary / Kilkenny, an formerly of Windgap, Co Kilkenny and Ballyclough, Rathgormack, Co Waterford. Mary died suddenly at home on October 10 , 2025. Pre-deceased by her parents John, Kit, brothers Paul and Benny and niece Laura. Sadly missed by her husband Michael, children David, Sarah, Shane and Michael Jnr, brother Matt, sister Claire, Aunt Pat Dowling, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, loving grandchildren, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Mary rest in peace.

 Mary will be arriving at St Molleran’s Church Carrick Beg on Wednesday the, October 15, for requiem mass on arrival at 11am followed by Cremation at the Island Crematorium Cork at 3pm. Family flowers only please donations if desired to the Irish Heart Foundation.
