Brigid O'Shea (née Dermody)
The death has occurred of Brigid O'Shea (née Dermody), Crowbally, Mullinavat, Kilkenny, X91 DY79. Brigid passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by her loving family at Mooncoin Residential Care Centre. Predeceased by her husband Michael, son Joseph and sister Mary (Dermody). Deeply regretted by her loving son Richard, daughters Mary and Mairead (Naddy), brother Jimmy, sister Anna (Forristal), brother-in-law Jack, son-in-law Liam, grandsons Mikey and Conor, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at her residence in Crowbally (X91 DY79) on Wednesday from 1pm to 8pm. Arriving on Thursday at All Saints Church, Knockmoylan, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial after in the adjoining cemetery.
Fr Denis Murphy
The death has occurred of Fr Denis Murphy, Doonane, Crettyard, Co Laois and formerly Upper Grange, Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny, on December 19th, 2022, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents John and Margaret, brother Eamonn and sisters Rita, Betty Morrissey, Sister Anna (Cross and Passion), Sister Breda (Cross and Passion). He will be sadly missed by Bishop Denis Nulty, fellow clergymen and colleagues, his nephew, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours, parishioners and many friends.
Rosary on Tuesday at 7pm in The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mayo, Co Laois. Arrival in St Abban’s Church, Doonane, (Eircode R93 AT86) on Wednesday at 4pm with Prayers that evening at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday in St Abban's Church, Doonane, at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
William Malone
The death has occurred of William Malone, Coolcullen, Coon, Kilkenny. Deeply regretted by his brothers, Michael and Patrick, his sister, Bridget Keating, sisters-in-law, Ailish and Mary, his nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, his relatives, neighbours, and friends.
Reposing in Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer, on Wednesday 21st December from 4 p.m., with rosary and vigil prayers at 7 p.m. Requiem mass on Thursday 22nd December at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid's Church, Coon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Linda Maher
The death has occurred of Linda Maher, The Sconce, Stephen Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny, on December 16th 2022 at St. Columba's Hospital, Thomastown. Beloved wife of Tom. She will be sadly missed by her husband, family and friends.

Reposing in Somers' Funeral Home, Bagenalstown, on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm, and on Wednesday from 12 noon, with removal that evening, arriving at The Church of the Assumption, Paulstown, at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am, followed by burial afterwards in the Holy Family Cemetery.
John (Seán) Holden
The death has occurred of John (Seán) Holden, Sue Ryder Homes, Owning, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Grawn, Coolagh, Co. Kilkenny. Unexpectedly, but peacefully, at University Hospital, Waterford on Sunday, 18th December 2022. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his family, brother Jim, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan (Eircode R95 Y443) on Tuesday, 20th December from 6pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. The death has occurred of John Dungan, Ballyglassoon, Piltown, Kilkenny, E32 XE35. John died peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Cissie and son Liam. The death has taken place of Elizabeth (Lizzy) Carrigan Ruthstown Ballyfoyle and late of Raheenduff Cuffesgrange (peacefully) at St Luke's Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Denis. Deeply regretted by her son Gerard, daughter-in-law Anna, grandchildren, Denis, James and Sinead. Brothers, Johnny, Paddy. Sister Ann. nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny, from 4pm on Tuesday with prayers at 7pm. Christine Carder (Patey)
The death has occurred of Christine Carder (Patey), 17 Deerpark, Castlecomer, Kilkenny, on 19th December, 2022. Unexpectedly at Home. Christine will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Wendy, son-in-law Tom, grand-children Tommy, Madeline, Rachel, and Shaun, great-grandchildren Tess, Evan, and Lily, Tommy's wife Jenny and Rachel's husband Maurice, sisters Maggie and Lorna, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.
