Kilkenny Nutritional Ltd & Glenpatrick Spring Water Ltd have been announced as the winner of the Single Use Plastics Award at the Repak Resource Awards 2025, Ireland’s National Environmental Awards.

The event, held at The Shelbourne Hotel, brought together leaders from across Ireland’s business, environmental and community sectors to celebrate the positive impact of environmental initiatives nationwide.

The Repak Resource Awards, formerly known as the Pakman Awards, are Ireland’s National Environmental Awards and recognise exceptional achievements in waste prevention, recycling, reuse, circular design and community-led environmental initiatives.

Kilkenny Nutritional and Glenpatrick Spring cut single-use plastics (SUP) PET bottles, switching to clear caps, and boosting reusable pallets, while maintaining zero SUP to landfill since 2017.

Supported by staff training and supplier partnerships, their scalable approach now targets 60% recycled PET, more reusable transit packaging and digital traceability to build a closed-loop system.

Speaking about the company’s win, Repak CEO, Zoe Kavanagh said: “We are proud to recognise Glenpatrick Spring Water and Kilkenny Nutritional for their leadership in reducing single-use plastics and advancing Ireland’s circular economy.”

“Their commitment to innovation, from redesigning bottles and adopting clear caps to expanding reusable packaging and traceability, demonstrates how practical, scalable solutions can deliver environmental impact.”

“It is inspiring to see manufacturers embedding sustainability across their operations and setting new standards for responsible packaging,” she concluded.
