Sinn Féin candidate Natasha Newsome Drennan
Sinn Féin candidate in the upcoming general election Natasha Newsome Drennan has welcomed the news that Kilkenny Carlow ETB have been approved to develop a new campus at Joinersfolly, Loughboy ,Kilkenny.
Speaking following the announcement, Newsome Drennan said:
"This is a real boost for Kilkenny and Carlow and will provide up to 5000 apprenticeships in the new Further Education and Training College.
"These apprenticeships are vital to the construction and other industries in the region, and will ensure this region will deliver so much for future students, young learners, staff and the wider community.
"The purchase of this 15 acre site is a really welcome development, and I'd like to commend everyone locally involved in making this campus a reality.
"My priority will be to work with all stakeholders to ensure this facility is built and that a sister campus of SETU becomes a reality in Kilkenny, I believe the ETB is ideally placed to compliment this new integrated model where students can move from apprenticeship to academic qualification on the one campus.
