Kilkenny man begins new role on primetime TV show

The local presenter will be a regular face on our TV screens

Kilkenny man lands primetime TV slot

Newstalk presenter and Kilkenny native Kieran Cuddihy has been announced as the new host of 'The Tonight Show' on Virgin Media, beginning his role as host tonight (Tuesday).

Kieran, a former Dicksboro hurler, currently hosts 'The Hard Shoulder' on Newstalk each evening and will continue to do so upon taking over his new role on Tuesday, March 4.

The son of Bill and Margaret Cuddihy, he has previously worked as a reporter at Newstalk and provided cover for presenters such as Ivan Yates, Shane Coleman and Bobby Kerr before landing his own show, 'On The Record' in 2018.

"What the Tonight Show has consistently taught us is that current-affairs programming doesn't have to be staid and predictable. It can be engaging, informative and entertaining when done right," the local presenter commented.
