The grandeur and mayhem of Fashion Week in Milan, Paris and New York
was
recreated in the King’s Suite of the Ormonde Hotel on Wednesday last as the Student Council of Ormonde College of Further Education staged its first ever fashion show.
The show was
organised
entirely by the students themselves with proceeds going to a number of charities of their choice.
Students and teachers joined home-grown
modelling
personalities as they strutted their stuff on the catwalk to exhibit fabulous garments provided by ten local retailers and boutiques. Among those displaying their attires on the night were
Jeutonic
Bridal Ware, Goods, Vila, Peaches Boutique, Lily Rose Boutique, Top Hat Menswear, Next Menswear, Sue Ryder, Oxfam and Uniform World.
Tracy Millea acted as Master of Ceremonies for the night and she really got into the spirit with her light-hearted and professional direction of the models in front of a very lively and appreciative audience.
The event was sponsored by TJ Reid Exercise and Fitness and the Student Council wish to extend their
heart-felt
appreciation to TJ and his team for their involvement and wish him the very best with the opening of his new health and fitness venture.
The Student Council also wish to acknowledge the invaluable assistance of Mick Burke Productions for staging,
light
and sound and Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel for their facilitation of the event. Niamh Murphy, Chairperson of the Student Council, in her summing up, expressed the hope that the event could become an annual feature of the college calendar.
Ormonde College of Further Education is currently accepting applications for its courses for September 2017 and is preparing to launch a new two-year
programme
in Hairdressing and Barbering Techniques. For further information contact the college on 056 7763321 or email info@ormondecollege.ie.
