Due to unforeseen circumstances the Social Farming Open Day due to take place tomorrow, 18th January, at Castle Farm, Ballykeeffe, has had to be cancelled.
The farm at Castle Farm is bringing the number of Social Farms in Kilkenny to seven. Situated at Ballykeeffe Castle Gate and is home to donkeys, sheep and hens. As well as the care of the animals there are different gardening activities available at the farm along with household activities including baking. The farm is a safe place to take part in a wide variety of farming activities.
Social Farming provides people who use services with the opportunity for inclusion, to increase self-esteem and to improve health and well-being by taking part in day to day farm activities on a family farm. Further information can be found on the website www.socialfarmingireland.ie
