Lots of bidding at land leasing auction in Kilkenny

Joseph Coogan Auctioneer held a land leasing auction at his premises in Ballycomey House in Castlecomer on Friday with the tillage land making €380 per acre.

There were four active bidders, three of which were dairy farmers. The successful bidder is a dairy farmer.

The lands are situated beside public road in Foulksrath, Jenkinstown, approximately two miles Conahy Church. The lands are presently in tillage, with no water supply.

There is demand for tillage land at present, with dairy farmers looking for lands for maize crop,  etc.

There is very good demand for land in permanent pasture with water supply and livestock handling facilities. The land leasing season for 2024 is just commencing now.

On the same day there was an auction of circa 10.5 acres of top-quality agricultural land with extensive road frontage. The land was sold for €188,000. In the region of €18,000 per acre. The land is situated in Tolerton, nine miles from Castlecomer.

This Friday at 3pm another fine farm is being auctioned at Ballycomey House. This 42-acre residential holding, situated at Raheen Lower, Donaghamore, Co Laois is one of the nicest properties to come on the market this year.
