Niall Ó Conchúir and Vincent Grace
TG4’s new cookery show Planda go Pláta is the first of its kind on Irish television, celebrating plant-based cooking.
In the second episode on January 25 at 8pm, host Niall Ó Conchúir makes his way down to Riversfield Farm in County Kilkenny to catch up with Kilkenny native and organic farmer Vincent Grace.
It is an unseasonably warm and bright winter day which is ideal for a walk through the fields of kale and broccoli.
After checking out the produce with Vincent, Niall cooks up a tofu dish with some sprouting broccoli and peanuts.
Back in the Planda go Pláta kitchen Rebecca whips up a very imaginative cauliflower dish with pink bulghur wheat and an apricot chili sauce and a warming winter pasta dish with fresh kale.
Across eight episodes viewers can join chef Niall Ó Conchúir and home cook Rebecca Uí Chonaola as they cook vegan recipes created especially for the series.
Rebecca and Niall will also meet other inspiring local farmers around the country.
The series was filmed across a growing year, tracking the seasons to showcase the many amazing vegetables that grow here and the health benefits they have for all of us.
