Callan Macra member to represent Kilkenny at Mr Personality Festival

Michael Lawler will represent County Kilkenny at the 17th annual Mr. Personality Festival which is being organised by Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme.

The 24-year-old is an active member of Callan Macra na Feirme and current PRO for the club. He has listed the Novice Debating quarter final as one of his most memorable Macra moments and has taken part in as many competitions as he can since becoming a member. His hobbies and interests include soccer, horse racing, socialising and travelling. He is a man of many talents!

Michael believes he will make a good representative for Kilkenny because he will throw his hand at anything- having admitted to never expecting to be competing in a competition like Mr Personality before, he is looking forward to proving himself wrong!
He has a jam-packed weekend ahead of him! The contestants will arrive at The Talbot Hotel at 2pm on April 5 and will be heading out for their first group activity of the weekend.

On their arrival back to the hotel, the on-stage interviews will kick off at 7:30pm. The on-stage interviews will be conducted by our MC, Miss Michelle Heffernan from Beat 102-103.

This will be followed by music from the much-anticipated A-Bros band and DJ til late.

Michael will have an early start on Saturday morning with contestant private interviews with our judges. Once the interview is finished, Michael will be heading for some jiving lessons with Niall Doorhy ; anyone interested is welcome to attend. After lunch, the contestant challenges will take place which will see Michael be put through his paces!

On Saturday evening, Micahel will be donning his suit and meeting with Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services and have their official photos taken. This is followed by the banquet, starting at 6.30pm. This year, the Mr Personality committee have a very special guest making an appearance for the banquet- so make sure you get your seat early as it’s a
surprise you really don’t want to miss out on!!

The Loose Canons will be playing hit after hit, until Mr Personality 2024 is announced at midnight. The DJ will be continuing the
celebrations until the early morning.

Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme ensures that there will be no shortage of Macra activity during the weekend in Clonmel, as we will see the return of the Hurling and Camogie competition this year.
