St Patrick's Day fun in Thomastown

One of Kilkenny’s most unusual and much-loved St Patrick’s Day events returns to Thomastown today, with creativity, colour and community spirit being the order of the day!

The annual Wheelbarrow Parade gets under way at 12 noon this Monday, March 17, with on-the-day registration open at The Quay from 11.15am to 11.45am.

This year’s theme is 'Anything Goes!', with organisers inviting individuals, families, clubs, businesses and community groups to let their imaginations run wild.

The event has become a standout part of St Patrick’s Day in Kilkenny, with entrants challenged to turn an ordinary wheelbarrow into something eye-catching and fun.
