Limerick businessman JP McManus is set to donate a substantial contribution to GAA county boards in Ireland to further invest in the national sport.

It is understood that that figure of €1 million is to be donated to each county board, including Kilkenny

It's been reported that Mr McManus will make this contribution to the county boards across the country through the JP McManus Charitable Foundation.

As first reported by Extra.ie, the money will be evenly distributed between GAA, camogie and ladies Gaelic football clubs.

The JP McManus Charitable Foundation was established in 2000, with the businessman making a similar contribution of €100,000 to every county board in Ireland back in 2018.
