Much-loved Kilkenny GAA commentator Barrie Henriques is celebrating his 84th birthday this week with family, friends and fans taking to social media to send their good wishes.
Henriques, originally from Co Galway is a former employee with Aer Lingus and having spent a period living in Manchester while working with the company, he decided to make Callan, Co Kilkenny home.

Almost 50 years on, the John Lockes clubman has become a staple of local life and GAA. From running a pub in the town to broadcasting GAA matches on Radio Kilkenny and CRKC to editing the highly successful Kilkenny GAA Yearbook, the once blow in has become a local gem in Kilkenny life and looks forward to many more happy years behind the mic.
"Always fun to hear you on the radio," one social media user posted.
Another added: "Happy birthday Barrie, you legend."
