Former Kilkenny hurler Mick Crotty passes away

Former Kilkenny and James Stephens senior hurler Michael (Mick) Crotty has passed away.

Mr Crotty first came to prominence on the inter-county scene with Kilkenny in the late 1960s winning an Oireachtas title with the county in 1969. The Village clubman went on to win four All-Ireland medals in the black and amber in 1972, 1974, 1975 and 1979.

Meanwhile, with his beloved James Stephens, the All-Star recipient won four Kilkenny senior hurling championships as well as two All-Ireland titles in 1976 and 1982.

Funeral Arrangements: Reposing at his home (R95P0KW) on Sunday (13th Oct) from 3pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Removal from his home on Monday morning to St. Patrick's Church, Kilkenny for Requiem Mass at 11am after which Mick will be laid to rest in St Kieran's Cemetery.
