As the Kilkenny senior hurlers prepare for the upcoming 2025 Allianz Hurling League, three inter-county challenge matches have been scheduled for the coming weeks following the removal of the Walsh Cup from the hurling calendar.
Kilkenny supporters will get their first taste of senior action on Sunday, January 5 with a trip to Tinryland in Carlow to face Dublin. The black and amber train moves on to Young Ireland's GAA grounds in Gowran on Saturday, January 11 for a clash with Waterford, before a hat-trick of January fixtures concludes in the Faithful Fields on Saturday, January 18 against Offaly (See Fixtures Below).
Meanwhile, the Allianz Hurling League is just around the corner with Derek Lyng's Cats part of a seven team Division 1A campaign that will see them face hard hitters including Munster champions Limerick and All-Ireland winners Clare.

After losing out to the Banner County in this year's All-Ireland semi-final, Kilkenny will have an early chance for a bit of revenge as they make the trip to Ennis for Clare's first competitive game since winning the Liam MacCarthy Cup in July. The other two away games will see the Noresiders face Wexford and Cork with both games taking place on Saturday evenings.
On home soil, Kilkenny will have games against Galway, Limerick and Tipperary which should bring big crowds to the Marble City for a couple of marquee clashes at an early part of the season. - CLICK HERE FOR FULL ALLIANZ LEAGUE FIXTURE GUIDE
