A huge crowd gathered in the community hall and lined the streets to welcome the panel home
The All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship title has returned to Kilkenny once again after St Lachtain's produced a polished all-round display to see off Cork's Russell Rovers in Croke Park.
The five point success that saw the Freshford men get all but three points from play is the 12th time that a Kilkenny side has clinched the silverware at this grade and they were hugely deserving winners.
Shane Donnelly got the only goal in the opening half and it gave Steven Farrell's an advantage that they held on to until the final whistle as they won out on a 1-18 to 0-16 scoreline. - FULL MATCH REPORT HERE
The St Lachtain's panel arrived home in Freshford shortly after 8pm on Sunday evening and were greeted by much fan fair and euphoria as the club celebrated their first All-Ireland title since 2010.
