Three-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny, Andy Comerford, believes no player should have been sent off in the county's home loss to Tipperary in UPMC Nowlan Park last Sunday.
David Blanchfield (Straight Red), Mikey Carey (Straight Red) and Jordan Molloy all received their marching orders in a 10 minute second half spell while the visitors also had Alan Tynan dismissed in an eventful afternoon for Dublin official Sean Stack. - MATCH REPORT HERE
"He (the referee) absolutely ruined the game," the former O'Loughlin Gaels manager and player told CRKC after the match.
"The referee did not need to send any player off, I did not see maliciousness in any of the tackles and to send players off who are training hard and giving up their lives for it (hurling) is very very disappointing," Comerford remarked.
"I can't see any solid formation for Kilkenny at the moment, we have one more league game to try and get that right and the (Leinster) round robin is on top of us so we need to be moving fairly quick," he added.

However, despite just three wins for Derek Lyng's team in the Allianz Hurling League so far, the former Kilkenny midfielder is hopeful the Cats can turn things around.
"Flip back nine months, we were there or thereabouts," the ex-Kilkenny captain commented, adding, "today is not the bar, today is the not the date. The date is probably coming to the latter of stages of the Leinster Championship."
"It's going to be uphill but if we can get our full compliment of players back, we can take a lot from it and we can build going forward," he continued.
