Kilkenny and Waterford fans share special moment 'for the love of all things hurling'

Huge reception for Waterford minor hurlers in Kilkenny

Family, friends and supporters of Waterford minor hurling captain gathered outside Comerford's Bar in Mooncoin to wish him (and the team) well!

Over the weekend, Comerford’s Bar in Mooncoin was decorated with both Kilkenny and Waterford flags.

Locals gathered outside the pub on Main Street waiting for the Waterford minor hurlers’ bus to pass through the village - the very same village immortalised in the Kilkenny GAA anthem 'The Rose of Mooncoin'.

The reason? Well, Waterford’s minor captain, James Comerford, is very much connected to the area.

Supporters, friends and family from both sides of the River Suir turned out to wish him and his teammates well.

James went on to lead the team to All-Ireland glory - and it's fair to imagine that Comerford's Bar was rocking following the result.
