Independent TD for North-West Kilkenny and North Tipperary, Michael Lowry has described the actions of those who defaced a sign wishing the Kilkenny team the best of luck as 'the behaviour of mindless vandals'.
Kilkenny supporters, particularly those residing on the border with County Tipperary, have been left enraged after fans from the Premier County vandalised a sign wishing a player well.
The two counties are preparing to do battle in Sunday's All-Ireland senior hurling semi-final in Croke Park.

"Whoever did this is not a true GAA supporter,"Mr Lowry said.
"No genuine supporter would behave in this way. They should hang their head in shame for bringing this kind of behaviour to the game.
"Every Tipperary supporter I have spoken with has expressed disgust at this and rightly so," he added.
A person in the area told Kilkenny Live, "Urlingford is a melting pot of tension today about it."
