The Irish Examiner are reporting that Kilkenny have received an apology from the GAA following the scoreboard error in the dying stages of their All-Ireland semi-final loss to Tipperary.
There was widespread confusion when a point was registered on the scoreboard for Tipperary, despite Noel McGrath's shot being waved wide by an umpire.
In the immediate aftermath, neither Derek Lyng or Liam Cahill were aware of the error and neither county board issued official public statements.

The Tipp boss was asked about the matter 24 hours later in an All-Ireland Final media event where he commented: "Kilkenny, like ourselves, if you don't win on the field you're not going to bring it to the boardroom". - READ MORE HERE
It's now understood the Kilkenny County Board wrote to Croke Park seeking clarification and were subsequently issued with an apology.
