Kilkenny SHL: Pure chaos breaks out after Tullaroan and Graigue Ballycallan tussle

There were chaotic scenes upon the full-time whistle in Páirc Lachtain on Saturday as old foes Tullaroan and Graigue Ballycallan did battle.

In a game Richie O'Neill's side led from the 21st minute until stoppage time, a determined Tullaroan hit a brace of points to level with one minute to play before ultimately snatching a precious victory.

A late Dylan Simpson goal in the 61st minute (1-24 to 0-24) swung the pendulum in a late surge similar to the one that stole two points from the clutches of Clara a week earlier.

However in what was already a rip roaring finish, what was to follow could hardly be believed.

From the puck-out following the goal, Graigue Ballycallan substitute Shane Butler took possession from the resulting puck-out and was fouled inside the square offering the Sky Blues a chance of redemption.

But in a cruel twist, Billy Ryan's penalty couldn't raise a green flag as Niall Holland batted the ball to safety creating scenes of relief and euphoria, so much much so that Holland decided to pay Butler a parting gift...
