Hurling and Camogie icons from all over the country took part in the 14th annual Hurling for Cancer game in aid of the Irish Cancer Society in Carlow on Monday evening.

Around a dozen past and current Kilkenny players togged out in an entertaining encounter which saw Jim Bolger's Stars, managed by John Kiely and Liam Griffin, run out as winners over Davy Russell's Best, who were led by Brian Cody and Liam Cahill.

Kilkenny greats such as TJ Reid, Eoin Cody and Huw Lawlor started the match for Bolger's Stars with retired All-Ireland winners including Walter Walsh, Eddie Brennan, Tommy Walsh and Grace Walsh ready to give an option from the bench.
