Kilkenny manager Derek Lyng
Following a meeting of the Kilkenny County Board this evening (Monday), Derek Lyng has been ratified as the Kilkenny senior hurling manager on a two-year term.
Lyng will be joined by selectors and coaches; Michael Rice, Peter O'Donovan, Eddie Brennan and Niall Corcoran.
The Emeralds clubman has held the position since 2023, replacing Brian Cody after 24 years in charge.
In his tenure so far, Lyng has won three Leinster titles and reached an All-Ireland final (2023) along with two semi-finals.
Kilkenny supporters will be hoping the wait for Liam MacCarthy will end in 2026, with hurling's top prize last visiting Noreside in 2015.
"Kilkenny County Board wishes Derek and his team the very best of luck for the seasons ahead," a spokesperson for Kilkenny GAA said.
