The Trustees of St Kieran’s College have lodged a planning application with Kilkenny County Council to erect eight new floodlights to an existing playing pitch on their grounds on the College Road in Kilkenny City.
A decision is expected from the local authority in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, works continue on the construction of a brand new full-size natural grass pitch and full-size synthetic grass pitch at the local school.

The project, which is being carried out by Clearwater Construction, will feature sports fencing, ball stop netting and walking tracks.
