The Trustees of St Kieran’s College have lodged a planning application with Kilkenny County Council to erect eight new floodlights to an existing playing pitch on their grounds on the College Road in Kilkenny City.
A decision is expected from the local authority in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, works continue on the construction of a brand new full-size natural grass pitch and full-size synthetic grass pitch at the local school.

The project, which is being carried out by Clearwater Construction, will feature sports fencing, ball stop netting and walking tracks.
"These additions will support a wide range of sporting activities and provide a safe, professional-grade environment for training and competition," a spokesperson for the company said. - READ MORE HERE
