Kilkenny manager Derek Lyng
Kilkenny ended the Allianz Hurling League with two wins, three losses and a draw, finishing with an admirable draw against Tipperary last Saturday night.
Now it’s down to the serious business of defending their Leinster senior hurling title with Galway up first.
"The reality of the league is that we’ve been down a few players from the get-go and on top of that, we had to look at players as well," Lyng told Kilkenny People Sport after the match in Semple Stadium.

"I certainly think we’ve found a few players in that regard and the league experience will definitely stand to them."
However, the Kilkenny manager was frank in his assessment of the league campaign as a whole.
"I wouldn’t say I’m too pleased with our league overall as you’d like to be there in the knockout stages but it is what it is and today’s display was better than Salthill so it’s heads down for the championship now."
