LATEST: Kilkenny candidate nearing election...

Outgoing Fianna Fáil TD, John McGuinness is nearing election with with a total of 9,856 votes after count four of the Carlow-Kilkenny General Election. 

The quota is 11,627 with Jennifer Murnane O'Connor (Fianna Fáil) and Peter 'Chap' Cleere (Fianna Fáil) just behind on 8,139 and 7,244 votes respectively.

Meanwhile, Adrienne Wallace was eliminated on the fourth count with her 1,528 votes set to be re-distributed.

So far, Wallace along with Tom Healy (Independent), Orla Donohoe (Irish Freedom Party) John O'Leary (Independent), Noel G Walsh (Independent) and David Egan (Liberty Republic) have been eliminated.
