BREAKING: First TD elected in Carlow-Kilkenny for General Election 2024

Fianna Fáil TD John McGuinness is the first candidate to take a seat for Carlow-Kilkenny in the next Dáil.

The Kilkenny City-based TD reached the quota of 11,627 after the eleventh count after more than 500 votes were transferred from eliminated candidate Michael Doyle (Fine Gael).

Patricia Stephenson of the Social Democrats has now been excluded from the race after amassing an impressive figure of 6,425 votes.
