A new Status Yellow Wind Warning is now active in Kilkenny.
The Met Eireann alert came into force at 8am and lasts until 8pm.
Met Éireann said: "Very strong northwest winds developing. Widespread gusts of 80 to 110 km/h expected, stronger in exposed areas."
