Two local young people will represent Kilkenny in the final of the National Youth Awards next weekend.
Sean Moloney, a TY student in St Kieran's College, and Emma Bergin, a TY student in Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny, will take part in the competition. The event will take place in Lyrath Estate Hotel on April 22.

Guests will be treated to a three-course meal and a disco that allows club members from communities across Ireland celebrate their involvement with the No Name! Club and party in a safe, alcohol free, supervised setting.
The awards are held at the end of each year in recognition of club members who have made an outstanding contribution to the No Name Club and their community. Club members initially compete at regional level before selection to go forward for the national finals.

In interviews on and off-stage, finalists will discuss their work in volunteering, community, club and school and their involvement in everything from student councils, to music and sport. They also acknowledge the campaigns run by their clubs, including partaking in Darkness into Light, raising funds for Pieta House and awareness for the important of mental health.
The No Name Club is a national youth volunteer-led organisation originally founded in 1978 in Kilkenny, and is now found in many counties around Ireland.
