Looking for submissions for Kilkenny's AKA23

The AKA festival takes place in Kilkenny from August 4 to 20

Submissions are now open for AKA23 and organisers are encouraging people to get involved.

The submission form is available at akafringe.com as well as a very useful video walking through the application from the group’s Creative Director. The submission deadline this year is May 17.

A meeting will be held in consultation with the AKA community this Thursday on May 27 upstairs in the Watergate Theatre from 6pm to 6.45pm. This will be a forum to ask questions about this year’s festival and meet other artists to chat and make plans together for the coming festival.

There will be an artist talk after the consultation with Philip Cullen, artist in residence with the Watergate.
AKA is a voluntary run arts festival that showcases the hard work and talent of artists and community groups in Kilkenny City and county.

Founded in 2014 by a group of artists and community organisers looking to bring together the scattered events and exhibitions that happen each August in Kilkenny. Over the last eight years the festival has grown from strength to strength and continues to offer a platform to established and emerging artists from Kilkenny city and county.

If you are planning on attending the event at the Watergate please let the organisers know in advance.
