Kilkenny woman eyes global prize

Kilkenny’s Anna Brennan has been selected to represent Ireland at the the upcoming Coup de la Jeunesse. The competition is set to be staged in Amsterdam from July 27th to 30th.

Brennan is a 5th Year student in the Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny City and away from her schooling, has undergone months of  training in the High Performance trial programme.

The rower is no stranger to success, winning the junior 16 singles at the Irish Championships, becoming the first Graignamanagh woman to do so.

The news has been widely celebrated in parts of Co. Kilkenny and Wexford with New Ross Boat Club providing the student great support.

The announcement has created much excitement amongst Anna and her backroom team including coach Alan Thomas and strength & conditioning coach Roger Thomas.
