Kilkenny camogie star Miriam Walsh visits school to share tips with girls teams

Miriam Walsh visits the local primary school

Miriam Walsh visited Moneenroe NS before the summer holidays to recognise the senior girls' recent sporting successes. 

Miriam gave great advice to the girls while also acknowledging the undoubted talent they must possess after claiming schools Gaelic football, schools Mini 7s football, Schools FAI 5-a-side soccer and schools camogie successes this school year. The whole school community is extremely proud of their achievements this year.  

In December, the girls beat Tullogher in the Roinn A LGFA football final. Early 2023, the girls beat St Aidan's NS in the Girls Cumann na mBunscoil Mini 7s final in Thomastown. In April, the girls beat Dunnamaggin NS in the Kilkenny county final of section A 5-a-side soccer in Evergreen FC. In late May the girls claimed the Roinn F Schools camogie title in their first year of entering the competition with a big win over the Conahy schools in Gowran.  

Miriam wished all the girls well with their future sporting endeavours, and said she hopes to see the girls represent Kilkenny in Croke Park in years to come.
