"We were delighted to be told by RTÉ that they could have made more than one programme in Kilkenny," he said.

"The enthusiasm, passion and excellence of those chosen by the production company should give a fantastic representation of our city and county. As people contemplate their plans for staycations or day trips for the rest of the summer and beyond, this programme will prove invaluable. As tourism has grown to become such a central part of our local economy, we are delighted to get this national spotlight at this vital time."

The programme will air at 7pm on Wednesday, July 12 and will also be available on the RTÉ Player.
