Kilkenny welcomes Culture Night 2023

Kilkenny city and county has organised a number of events, workshops, plays and tours to celebrate the very best of Irish culture on Friday, September 22.

Celebrating the values of openness, discovery and belonging, all activities on Culture Night 2023 are FREE.

Directed by the Arts Council, Culture Night is brought to the people in partnership with local authorities and cultural organisations throughout the country. 

As part of the celebrations, the Watergate Theatre will present Fred & Alice Love in the time of OCD, written by award winning writer John Sheehy and performed by Ciaran Bermingham & Cora Fenton.

Booking is required and the play begins at 8pm. 

The period rooms of Kilkenny Castle will be open to the public free of charge from 6pm to 9pm.

Last admission will be at 8.30pm. 

No advance booking is required, admissions will start from 6pm at the front door of the castle. 

In North Kilkenny, Clogh Writers will host events related to the Basin Valley, Clogh, Moneenroe and Castlecomer. 

Different aspects of local and wider culture will be celebrated through words, visual arts, music, dance and local craft exhibits and displays.
