Kilkenny's Nore Valley Park has been named Ireland's best pumpkin patch according to a list compiled by HelloFresh Ireland, which ranks each county’s patches by popularity, affordability and customer rating.
Coming out on top, Nore Valley Park's patch scored highly across the board. The site has over 36,000 followers on social media with an average family entry cost of €24 and a Google rating of 4.2. The site also offers fun family events such as pumpkin carving, scare mazes and treasure hunts.
Luggwoods in Dublin was the patch that came second. By far the most popular with a whooping 34,300 searches from September to October, as well as 24,900 followers on social media and a Google rating of 4.3, Luggwoods is Ireland’s most well known patch.
Ballycross Apple Farm, Wexford, came in third, with the second highest number of searches at 26,600. It also scored mid-range for affordability with an admission price of €30.
Once the pumpkins have been picked, HelloFresh encourages families to use their pumpkin in tasty recipes. Pumpkin can easily be incorporated into nutritious meals, by swapping out squash in popular recipes such as Prawn and Squash Curry, Spiced Stew and Butternut Squash Risotto.
