EirGrid, the operator and developer of Ireland’s electricity grid, is set to continue its Energy Citizens Roadshow series in Kilkenny on October 25.

The information event will inform local communities across Kilkenny about how EirGrid plans to future-proof the electricity grid. ESB Networks will also outline its role in connecting microgeneration, with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) on hand to advise on home energy upgrades and retrofitting grants.

The EirGrid Energy Citizens Roadshow takes place on Wednesday, October 25 at The River Court Hotel, Kilkenny, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Along with a panel of experts, including SEAI and ESB Networks, the roadshow will include a host of exhibitors showcasing the latest information about home energy efficiency upgrades.

“These events give the people of Kilkenny an opportunity to hear about the strides being made to support a sustainable economy and growing communities across the city and county alike, by developing and strengthening the electricity grid," said Sinead Dooley, Head of Public Engagement with EirGrid.

“EirGrid is also aware of people’s concerns regarding energy consumption and the need for savings, and we are pleased to have exhibitors from a range of organisations, such as SEAI, who can provide information regarding local and national supports.

“We look forward to hearing inputs from communities and industry leaders, as well as to sharing knowledge in this journey towards achieving our energy ambitions."
