Kilkenny County Council has renewed its contract with Granny Recycling and Waste Disposal Unit.

The renewed partnership, extending over the next four years, underscores the commitment of both organisations to safeguarding the environment and promoting efficient waste disposal practices in South Kilkenny.

Environmental Awareness Officer at Kilkenny County Council Mags Whelan said the council was thrilled to extend the partnership with Granny Recycling.

“They have always demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable waste management practices,” she said.

“This renewal reflects our shared vision and commitment to creating a clean and green South Kilkenny for generations to come. It is easily accessible and very economically friendly at €5.50 per refuse sack of rubbish with a carload of recycling charged at €5.”

“By offering accessible and well-managed options for waste disposal, we can effectively combat the scourge of illegal dumping, while promoting sustainable waste management practices that benefit the entire community.”

Director of services for Kilkenny County Council, Sean McKeown said there was a collective responsibility to ensure that communities are well kept and maintained.
