Date revealed for Santa's arrival to Kilkenny and start of Yulefest

KILKENNY

Santa and his elves arrive to Kilkenny last year

Santa will arrive into Kilkenny City by boat on November 25, kicking off this year's Yulefest event.

Celebrating Christmas in Kilkenny, Yulefest brings festive cheer to the city and county with Christmas markets, family entertainment and special events!

An initiative of Kilkenny County Council, this year's festival will launch on November 25 with Santa’s arrival at 2pm by river to the city and the turning on of Christmas lights with Mayor of Kilkenny Joe Malone and MC Edward Hayden. Families and children are encouraged to come out and get involved and enjoy the start of the festive season in Kilkenny.

The Yulefest Christmas Market will be open on the Parade, there will be live music on the Yulefest Bandstand and Santa will arrive in the city. Plus some special surprises on the day!

The Yulefest Christmas Market on The Parade plaza opens on November 25 and runs  every weekend from November 25 to the December 23 from 11am to 6pm, with a special late night market on Friday, December 22. With Kilkenny Castle as its backdrop, the 40 Yulefest market vendors will sell tasty treats, creative crafts and festive gifts.

Each weekend, the Yulefest Christmas Market will also host the Yulefest Bandstand, which will feature live music, dancing and family entertainment so gather your friends and family and join us each weekend where there will be a host of activities and a great festive atmosphere.

Full festival details coming soon. See yulefestkilkenny.ie to find out more!
