Kilkenny's young Toy Show sensation Stevie Mulrooney launches 'Hope is a Home'

Seven-year-old Stevie Mulrooney, who stole the nation's heart with his rendition of Ireland's Call on the Late Late Toy Show, has officially launched the Hope is a Home: The 12 Days of Christmas campaign by the Good Shepherd Centre Kilkenny (GSCK). 

The little boy swapped his Irish jersey for a Christmas jumper today as he teams up with Kilkenny Mayor Joe Malone and Orla Kelly, and the GSCK’s online brand ambassador for the campaign, Kilkenny digital content creator Niamh Carroll, to support the festive campaign for the Good Shepherd.

The GSCK, a dedicated homeless charity in Kilkenny, is embarking on a 12-day journey from December 1 to December 12, spreading awareness and raising funds for individuals and families facing housing challenges in Kilkenny. 

Highlighted events:

Charity five-a-side soccer match: 
Where: Freebooters, Kilkenny City 
When: Wednesday, December 6th, kick-off TBC 
Join us for an exciting charity soccer match, featuring local personalities including KCLR’s Robbie Dowling. 
Street Collections: 
When: Tuesday, December 5, and Friday, December 8 
Where: Kilkenny City 
GSCK volunteers will be stationed on the streets, collecting donations and spreading festive cheer. 
Visit to Freshford with Giant Teddy Bear Naming Ceremony: 
GSCK's special mascot, a giant teddy bear, will visit Freshford, with its name chosen in collaboration with the staff and children of the Oasis Childcare Centre. 
No Uniform Day and Volunteer Support from CBS Kilkenny: 
Where: CBS Kilkenny 
Transition Year students will partake in a no uniform day, raising awareness and volunteering during the campaign.
