Down Syndrome Kilkenny let their hair down for their annual Christmas bash on Sunday, with over 120 branch members turning out for festivities at the River Court Hotel.

Santa Claus took time out of his busy schedule to deliver presents to all the girls and boys. There were some great moves on display on the dancefloor and there was no shortage of singers when the karaoke got under way.

A couple of elves turned up on the day also and hit the dance floor, it is believed they were looking for any excuse to avoid the hectic work schedule in the North Pole.

Down Syndrome Kilkenny have a few elves if their own who worked very hard behind the scenes all year especially the events elves Cora Hennessy, Aimee Firlding and Carolyn Parker, who were on hand to make sure Santa had all the right presents and lots of spot prizes too.

Elf Eithne Reilly was the driving force behind the sibling workshops, ensuring all the amazing brothers and sisters get a little time out for themselves every month to make new friends while doing fun activities.

SELFLESS
Down Syndrome Kilkenny would like to extend a massive thank you to all the local businesses and wonderful community in Kilkenny that continue to show support in more ways than one including the No Name Club who selflessly give up their free time whenever volunteers are needed.

Of course, there would be no branch without a committee; the three amigos Aoife McKevitt, Sean Manicle and the head honcho herself Fiona Heffernan, who paid tribute to everyone who helped out and lended a hand during the year.

“Thanks to your support, we’re looking back on a year filled with progress, kindness, and a brighter future for our pals with Down Syndrome in Kilkenny. Cheers to you all,” organisers said.
