Kilkenny hurling fans will have to wait a little longer to see their heroes start their 2024 campaign after their opening game in the Dioralyte Walsh Cup was called off.
Derek Lyng's side had made the short trip to Netwatch Cullen Park on Sunday to take on neighbours Carlow, but heavy fog and freezing conditions scuppered their plans.
The game was due to throw in at 1.30pm, but with conditions failing to clear the start was pushed back to 1.45pm and then 2pm, before the decision was made to postpone the fixture.
The match will now go ahead at 8pm on Tuesday, with the venue switching to the SETU Carlow pitch. Tickets purchased for the original date will be valid for Tuesday night.
