A familiar face elected as Mayor of Kilkenny

City Hall, Kilkenny

A familiar face in local politics has been elected Mayor of Kilkenny.

Councillor Andrew McGuinness has been elected Mayor for the third time, having previously held office in 2014 and 2021.

Cllr Joe Malone  said he had the privilege of putting Cllr Andrew McGuinness forward as Mayor  and said that he had 'no doubt that he will be a good Mayor' and will 'hit the ground running'.

The proposal was seconded by Cllr David Fitzgerald.

Councillor Joe Malone was elected deputy Mayor of Kilkenny City. Cllr Malone was proposed by Cllr David Fitzgerald and this proposal was seconded by Cllr John Coonan.
