Strictly Let’s Dance Kilkenny was certainly among the social event highlights of last year.
Tickets were like gold dust with the 1,500 sold out within two weeks of being released to public. The annual event has transformed many people into dazzling twinkle toes with many local celebrities having taken part over the last couple of years.
They are back with a bang for 2016 promising another amazing night and most importantly raise funds for the very worthy local cause — Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre.
Cois Nore are seeking 40 men and women from across Kilkenny to take part in this very special event where absolute beginners will undergo an eight-week training programme where they will learn to master the dancefloor.
The event is open to men and women of all ages (over 18) who are up for a laugh and would like to learn how to dance. There are dozens of dance styles to be performed - everything from Tango, Charleston, Salsa, Lyrical and many more.
You don’t need a partner as you will be matched up at training and you don’t need any experience.
Training begins in September for eight weeks. Dancers will then compete in a glamorous dance-off at the Lyrath Estate Hotel on October 28, when one lucky couple will be crowned King and Queen of the Dancefloor.
